Tanya Guryel was born in London and studied English and American Literature at Goldsmiths College, London University. After her degree she taught English in Spain and started developing comics and storytelling activities for English classes. She found this as a versatile way for students (regardless of their age) to practice English creatively and independently. Since moving back to Cyprus in 2017, she has continued to develop activities at C-Quals where students make books full of stories, comics and poems or stop motion films for which they can build sets and record voices themselves. As well as this, Tanya has hosted workshops for trainee ELT teachers to make creative activities for their classrooms.
